Parvin Associates is a small company located in Wilder, Idaho, Near Boise. PA is owned by Conrad Parvin, a programmer since
1978.
With a background in electronics, when Personal Computers (not to be confused with PC's) appeared, he purchased a
TRS-80 Model 1 from Radio Shack. Learning to program with 16kb memory helped to learn to generate tight code!. Later when the
TRS-80 Model III/IV came around, and Hard Drives!. Can you imagine having a HUGE drive of 5MB?
At that time he created his first "serious" application, a Point
of Sale system for Amway Distributors. There were 3
installations of that product.
In 1986 Conrad began to program professionally, programming for local businesses who saw the future. Using the products then
available, he learned dBase and then Clipper. Clipper was the powerful language of DOS (What's Windows?), with
a strong extensible
language and database.
In 1995 Conrad worked for a year in Kuwait, for the Kuwait Air Force, in the Supply Department. There he programmed in Clipper
and Extend Systems Advantage Server, an early form of Client Server Database, using dBase/Clipper File Format. That was where He
discovered the Internet. Returning to Idaho, Conrad learned HTML and web design. The next step was PHP and
actual internet based applications.
Conrad has been married to the former Faith Snyder, for over 44 years. They have 5
grown children, and 12 grand children and 2
great grand children.
